Nice = nothing new
Are you proud of being boring?
There is nothing to be gained from claiming to be ‘nice.’ The word ‘nice’ is such a pointless non-descriptive word that you may as well describe yourself as the blandest shade of beige.
And, of course, most people who say that they are ‘nice’ are the complete opposite of what the word supposedly means.
‘Nice’ is often misused in the context of relationships to point out what should be basic decency but yet is proclaimed by many as a reason that they should be entitled to your company.
How often have you heard the phrase ‘nice guys finish last’? You know why that happens — one, you aren’t as nice as you think you are- and two, you are as boring as a cucumber sandwich.
If you have to tell people that you are ‘nice,’ it’s because you aren’t obviously a good human. Weirdly, when it isn’t obvious to nearly everyone around you that you are, in fact, ‘nice,’ it could actually mean (and bear with me here) that you may not actually be!
Even still, assuming that you are actually ‘nice, using it as a selling point doesn’t really mean anything when you think about it. The word is devoid of feeling — it’s satisfactory… like a C+ on an exam. It’s non-descript like U2, a pair of shorts, or most fast food.
