I made the most unattractive dating profile I could to see how men would respond.

It was more successful than I could have anticipated

Before this seems like I’m going off on some rant about internet dating and how crap it is — I’m not. I used it quite a bit for the last few years — mixed results mostly (partially because I never know what I wanted exactly) — and I have met some nice people.

I’ve also met some complete loons as well… but I guess at least I have stories.

I’m glad it’s not something that I’m doing now — because from what I hear, it’s been getting worse. I’d say in my late thirties, it would probably be a bit of a cesspool, whether you’re a man or a woman.

One thing that I remember not really liking about it was that people made so little effort with it.

One-word messages. Or ‘hi,’ or ‘hey?’ And maybe that sounds rude because I’m not a dude (and apparently internet dating is harder for men), but if you get 20 messages that all say “hey,” you aren’t going to answer any of them.

Like, get your finger out. You’d say more than that in real life, wouldn’t you?!

Let alone the random filth that people seem to throw around on the internet proving the sentiment of “if you throw enough shit at a wall, some of it will stick” is still…
