How I made it freelancing

(OK, I did go back to a 9–5, but I did make it)

I know I have a 9–5 now, but I can honestly look back and say that I had a great few years freelancing. Ghostwriting, blogging, editing, copywriting … I did it all and got paid well too.

A government job is bulletproof during a recession, right?

I mean, it has a pension, right?

You can’t fight for work every month forever!

And while all these statements are true, I still miss it and possibly will return to it full-time one day. The freedom to choose when and how you work is really intoxicating — even if the work itself is not always exactly what makes your heart sing.

So how did I make it work?

Well, I’m not one of these writers that will tell you I made a fortune using apps you’ve never heard of. I’m not going to sell you a vague course promising to teach you new things but only sell you mostly common sense and substandard marketing tips.

A lot of the articles that I have seen written on here sound like they’ve never even used the sites themselves and simply researched them without submitting them.

I also don’t believe that my way of doing it is foolproof, especially as everything is changing economically and otherwise, but here is what I did. I was…
