Seriously… tell me your secret!

Are you the kind of person that can get up at 6 AM to go for a run before work? Are your nails, hair, and clothing always neat and stylish? Are able to balance work, your family, your chores, and your social life seamlessly?

COULD YOU PLEASE TELL ME YOUR SECRET?!

Perhaps, this is coming from a place of always being told that I was lazy, but I feel like I’m missing something here. My house is far from perfect. I work erratic hours. I have several side hustles and freelance. I have a kid and a partner that I don’t live with. It seems to me that there are not enough hours in the day. What am I doing wrong?

I’d like to think I’m not lazy, but since my son was born 17 years ago, I’ve never not been tired. My parents would laugh at me (without being particularly helpful I might add) saying that I had no reason to be tired, but I worked twelve-hour shifts at work and was lucky to get six hours of sleep a night. Even before I had my kid I managed full-time college and a nearly full-time job, and despite being young I was always tired, but always busy.

I’ve always had my fingers in several different pies, but chose the freelancing way of life because I thought that this would encourage balance. I theorised that I could earn enough and pick my hours in a way that guaranteed me enough…
